Individual Open Play Men’s League

Welcome to the inaugural Cottonwood Hills Golf Course Individual Men’s League.  The league is designed for those players desiring an individual handicapped competitive league with head to head competition.


Play will begin next week May 20th and 21st.  Rules outlining participation, costs, etc. are listed below.

Participation Requirements:

  1. Players must have and manage an MSGA handicap.  The league will use this handicap for competition purposes.

  2. Membership is $50 for the season and can be paid to the Golf Shop.

  3. Players must pay for weekly rounds in the Golf Shop.

    1. $10 for stroke event

    2. $10 for optional skins game, buy in is CASH ONLY

League Format:

  1. Our 9-hole weekly events are played on Monday and Tuesday. You may play your round for the weekly event any time on either one of those days, your choice, however you must play with another Men's Association member.  Please tell the Pro Shop you are playing in the league when you make your tee time and when checking in.

  2. The schedule for play each week is available in the golf shop and is subject to modification. (Formats may change to keep the games interesting), weekend tournaments will be planned and scheduled in advance.

  3. Players are responsible for keeping track of their competitors score and attest to final round with signature.  Please, legibly, print first and last names on scorecards. Turn in scorecards at the Pro Shop after play.

  4. Results will be posted on the Cottonwood Hills website.

  5. Players are responsible to call in and schedule their tee time with the golf shop.  Tee times can be made up to 1 week in advance. Calling early to set up tee times is encouraged.

  6. Tee assignments:

    1. Black Tees – 0-4.9 hdcp index

    2. Blue Tees – 5-9.9 hdcp index

    3. Green Tees – 10-18 hdcp index

  7. Rules- USGA Rules of Golf govern play along with the “Local Rules” sheet for Cottonwood Hills posted near the handicap computer in the Pro Shop.  These rules are in effect. All putts must be holed out (no gimmes) and the course must be played as marked. You must be certain your ball is in a Penalty Area to take appropriate relief. There is no relief for bad lies unless the area is clearly marked as ground under repair.

  8. Golf etiquette is a must, play fast and always take care of the course.
